Idaho - The Gem State

Who knew Idaho was beautiful?

In Ohio we don’t know what to think of when we imagine Idaho.

I always imagined shoddy farms penned in by some barren mountains.

But Idaho is amazing.  It’s sparsely populated and full of hidden, natural wonders.

On Monday we ate Memorial Day lunch overlooking waterfalls that are bigger than Niagara Falls.

We didn’t even know that such a thing existed.  Not only did it exist, but it was untouched by commercialism, alone in its natural beauty.

On Sunday we saw a sign that said “City of Rocks”, so Melissa followed it.  We curved around mountains on a 37 mile dirt road when we were suddenly confronted by gorgeous rock formations.

Idaho truly is the gem state, forget about their famous potatoes.

I’m not sure I believe those pictures are from Idaho. There wasn’t a single potato.  I have to say I’m very jealous the “City of Rocks” looks like an amazing place.
