Newport, TN

Newport, TN is the perfect small town.

It’s main street looks like it hasn’t changed for 40 years.

Diane’s beauty shop was full of white haired women who sat gabbing in the salon chairs.

The appliance store would be perfect for a movie set in the 60’s.

Unfortunately I did not capture any photos of this town.

I knew that I should.  While we were walking around Newport deciding how we were going to get by without the van I knew I should pull my camera out.

I couldn’t bring myself to take any pictures.  I was anxious, scared, and tired.  I had no idea what we were going to do.

It was only two weeks earlier that we had completed countless hours of work on this van to prepare it for a cross country trip.  The value is $0?  You’ve gotta be kidding me.

So I’m sorry I have no photos of Newport to show you.  It was an awesome town.  If you are ever in the Smoky Mountains stop by.

Tell Gary at Kyker’s auto that you know the couple with the Dodge van that “blowed” it’s engine.
