There’s no such thing as a free lunch.

“And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.  For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them.  But seek his kingdom and these things will be given to you as well.” Luke 12:29-31

Some people say there’s no such thing as a free lunch.

I beg to differ.

Since we’ve begun this journey we’ve received two free lunches, discounted pizza, and a couple of free hot dogs.  And we’ve only been on the road for 7 days.

No, we’re not stealing this food.  I can’t help it if employees happen to take a liking to us and help the system work in our advantage for once.

Our friend Gordon works at Panera.  The morning we were staying at his house I half-jokingly asked if he could hook us up with some free lunch.  He ended up taking our order for roast beef sandwiches and French onion soup before he left for work.

When we walked into the Panera at OSU around 3:00, two delicious lunches awaited us at the end of the counter.  And boy was I hungry.  Food tastes a million times better when you don’t have to pay for it.

Then today, my cousin Chris asked us if we wanted to join him for free lunch at one of the Ohio University dining halls.  Even dining hall food tastes good when it is free.

So don’t worry about us, God is providing.
