Visions—Tutoring Kids
Brad and I have a few visions that we would like to pursue once we have the house.
One of the big ones is to give neighborhood kids a place to come after school and get help with homework, use a computer, and hang out. We want our house to be a safe and comfortable place where kids can thrive.
Many kids do not have positive environments to go home to, let alone someone to help them with their homework, so we hope to provide them with that.
We would really like the house we get to be a duplex. That way we can live in one half and open the other side up to the community.
If this happens, we can create an entire room devoted to children. We can provide a couple of computers, printers, pens, paper and, most importantly, people to help and mentor them.
We can make sure they get a snack, or even entire meal, at least once a day. We can be the people who are concerned for their welfare. We can make them feel loved and important.
We hope to write about more of the ideas that we have. We would love any feedback and/or other ideas you have for this community house.
