We’d like to start a legitimate urban ministry, with the same goals as most other ministries in America—to love people in the name of Jesus.

One significant difference between our ministry and others is that there’s no one formally in charge.

It feels good to reflect on an incident and know that you were “the bigger person” because you didn’t repay evil for evil.  You were a kind person, a reasonable person, whatever it is.

But at what point does turning the other cheek, aware that it’s psychologically pleasing, become self-seeking?

God is a flat-taxer.

In the Old Testament, God asked for 10% of everyone’s income, straight up.  People could give more if they felt like it, but 10% was the requirement for everyone, regardless of income or capabilities.

This may rile some people, but why should we be any different?

I’m reading this book called Jesus Plan for a New World,

I don’t know whether or not to recommend it yet, because he hasn’t reached many conclusions.
