Thanks to KSL Salt Lake City for putting up with us and for thinking that we were interesting enough to do a news story on.

This story ended up being a lot different than the first one from Channel 2 KUTV.

I think the interview from KUTV better portrayed what we are actually out here to do.

It seems as if we came off to the KSL viewers as hippies who aren’t really doing anything out of the ordinary and who will probably just end up living in our parents’ basement.

The KSL viewers also showed a particular hatred toward Brad’s beard.

The KUTV interview well represented our ideals and why we believe that this is what Jesus really has in mind for his disciples.

We even met an awesome family that contacted us after viewing the KUTV interview.  They invited us over for dinner and even gave us a place to sleep for the night.

Unfortunately it was aired on a Sunday night and didn’t send much more traffic to the site than normal.

But holy cannoli, the KSL interview nearly doubled our page views overnight.

But I feel like we didn’t do our jobs as disciples of Jesus to make it extremely clear what we are doing out here.

We only talked about Jesus once while being interviewed and that part didn’t even make on air.

Now there are 105 comments and counting on the KSL site some saying that we are cool but mostly saying that we are stupid and irresponsible.

Yea, it kind of hurts to read those things about you.

But as Brad said it earlier, we’ve put ourselves out here in this website for the whole world to read and dissect.  These are the consequences that come along with that.

If we are able to help one person then it is all worth it.

So we’ve done the best we can to reconcile the fact that Salt Lake City thinks we’re a bunch of crazy loons and we immediately drew up a doctrine stating what we believe.

It’s time to really buckle down and stop being afraid to talk about why we are really out here.

I’d rather be a loon for Jesus than an irresponsible, welfare sucking loon.
