Articles of Faith

We believe that our faith perspectives should be an open topic of conversation.  Most religious ideas are in a constant state of flux in our minds and benefit greatly from new ideas and suggestions.

All of our beliefs are open to discussion.

However, we do have a list of truths that we are firmly committed to.

These “Articles of Faith” are the best representation of our religious identity.

  • We believe that there is one God.  He exists eternally.  Everything we know originates from Him.
  • We believe that a real being named Satan exists in inferior opposition to God.
  • We believe that sin is a human condition inherited at birth.
  • We believe that through a genuine belief in Jesus Christ as savior, all men and women can be saved.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the only son of God, born of a virgin.  He lived a sinless life and was brutally murdered to ransom the world from its sin.  He came back to life shortly after dying and later ascended to heaven to sit on his throne as and with God.
  • We believe that all men will exist in some form for eternity.
  • We believe that there is one heaven and one hell.  Upon death, we believe that each person will be admitted into one of those two existences.
  • We believe that children are responsible for their own salvation at that time at which they have the capacity to fully appreciate the gospel message and make a responsible decision.  We believe that at that time each child must choose for himself whether or not to follow Jesus.
  • We believe that all Christian brothers and sisters are called to be active workers for God.
  • We believe that individuals have many different roles in the church, they are all equal in value and are assigned by God in accordance with our abilities.
  • We believe that although baptism by water and the holy spirit are good and advisable, true belief and acceptance by God is a result of an internal state of mind and a public profession of faith.
  • We believe that a church is the communion of two or more individuals.
  • We believe in the gifts of the spirit and supernatural acts of God in the present time.
  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired work of God.
  • We believe that all people should have the freedom to choose or not choose to follow Jesus.
  • We believe that other Christian sects who profess a true belief in Jesus Christ probably go to heaven, but they’re sure missing out.
