It’s also our responsibility to take care of the planet that the Lord has given us.
It’s a beautiful creation and we should do whatever we can to preserve it for God’s other children.
We have to stop wasting so much. We throw out so much food in this country. Our landfills are piled high with single use containers.
We also need to use less of the world’s energy. We’re not treating the planet in a fair manner.
We need to use less of the Earth’s resources for ourselves and share more. Less energy, less water, less trash. We’re not demonstrating love, we’re demonstrating selfishness.
Decreasing waste and energy usage also decreases our dependence on society around us. We have to place ourselves in a position that in the unlikely event that society as we know it should collapse we can survive. When we rely on the government for energy and the Kroger’s for food we’re at the hands of the system. How quickly would our yards fill up with trash and filth if waste services were no longer available?
If the government or society should collapse, or simply choose to no longer appreciate Christians, we need to be able to take care of ourselves. The best way to do that is to start now.
Self-sustainability is key to successful community.
