The Best of 2025

I think balance is a lie. I don’t think it can be achieved, it’s just not how humans and life work.

This year was out of balance for us. There were long swaths of time that I would call slow, as life with a newborn often is. Then there were large swaths of time that were busy and full, and I ached to have nothing to do.

As I looked through my photos this year I noticed that some months hardly had any pictures in them and others had so many. Normally I try to share the same amount of photos from each month, but this year I just rolled with my actual favorites. January and November ended up pretty sparse, but some of the other months are packed full of beautiful memories. The winter pictures are cozy and indoors, the summer ones full of outdoor fun and harvests and plants growing tall.

We added another life to our family in 2025— isn’t that amazing? It stretches us for sure, but in that stretching I find that I can’t do it all. With that realization, I get to rely more fully on Jesus. And that’s a good place to be.

This year I admitted that I couldn’t do it all. I was at the end of myself so many times, and every single one of those time I found the Lord right there with me showing me the way.

What a beautiful year it’s been.
